You can read the summary of The 13th Sign here.

I don’t know if you remember, but a few months ago I gushed about meeting Kristin in Gulf Shores. Call it kismet or serendipity, call it whatever… I call it the beginning of a beautiful friendship. {We are friends, Kristin, if you didn’t know. #iamnotacreep}. Anyway, the fact that I really enjoyed her book should come as no surprise. Despite being a middle grade read, where at times I felt the story was a little simplistic for my taste, I had so much fun reading The 13th Sign.

Years ago a story was published saying that there was a 13th zodiac sign. Do you guys recall this? I’m a Sagittarius {just like our main character, Jalen} and when someone told me I was this new sign, Ophiuchus, I scoffed and told them to take a flying leap. I’m an archer, always have been… always will be. This novel is about a girl, Jalen, and her buddies who have unlocked the 13th sign causing all kinds of sh*t to happen. There’s a TON of action {think battle royale between the kids and zodiac signs}, a nice little twist, and just good fun.

Another plus, this story takes place in The Big Easy. Normally when stories take place in New Orleans, my ears perk up and I’m looking for mistakes. But Kristin was a smarty-pants and had a Nola local critique her writing. So, I found no mistakes and was able to follow Jalen and her friends around my home town as they tried to put right the world.

If you guys enjoy the Zodiac, and love a good action adventure, then this book is for you.
{Stephanie, I’m looking at you and Oliver}

Happy weekend, nerds!!!

  1. Ooh, this book sounds so interesting! I’m a huge fanatic for the Zodiac and find myself looking at horoscopes and all that kind of zodiac stuff in little segments of my free time totally absentmindedly. I’m putting this book on my TBR.
