*WARNING: THIS IS NOT A STELLAR REVIEW. IT IS SHORT. IT IS HONEST. IN SHORT, HONESTLY, THIS BOOK SUCKED*

Taken {the first book of this series} was okay at best, Frozen was not okay…. at all. I know Erin Bowman poured her heart and soul into her novels and the concept of this series is a good one. However, the execution was lackluster. Her first person approach left me feeling empty and disconnected. I was told how everyone felt and in turn felt nothing. There was a love triangle that felt so contrived it was painful to read. There were a few characters with redeeming qualities but for the most part, everyone was super douchey.

I don’t think I will be continuing with this series. I have no desire to sit through another one of these novels, unfortunately. I met Erin Bowman, who was such a lovely, funny human. I wanted to love her books because I enjoyed meeting her so much. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT that is not the case. She rules, her books drool. Oh well.

Happy reading dudes.

  1. I felt this way after book 1. I wanted to love it because the concept was so cool, but I was very underwhelmed. And the love triangle made zero sense to me (and angered me too) so I didn’t bother with book 2. 😦

    • Underwhelmed is the perfect word for it. I had book two so I though “eh, why not? Redemption time perhaps?” But she missed the mark completely. The love triangle definitely didn’t make any sense. And the writing as a whole felt juvenile. You did the right thing by not reading the second one. :/
