In which I facepalm

So, it’s been a minute or two since I’ve visited my Raven Boys. With the recent release of Blue Lily, Lily Blue, I’ve decided to revisit the Aglionby boys and my girl, Blue. I forgot how much I loved the slow-moving Henrietta and the passion behind the search for the Welsh King. I’m finding so many new things to love about our characters. I’m also finding out that my brain box needs to be cleaned out because I’ve forgotten a lot. I must have said, “ohhhh, yeah… that happened” about a dozen times. {Insert Facepalm}

So, yeah, I felt the need to share that I’m in the reread mode of this series. I also read Tana French’s newest Dublin Murder Squad installment, The Secret Place. I’ve said it a million times before and I’ll say it a million times again, Tana French can do no wrong….HOWEVER!!!!!….this book fell flat in the story-line department. It was filled with bitchy little girls, who are obsessed with lip gloss and One Direction. I seriously wanted murder them all. But I didn’t. Because they’re fictional. But still…… I soldiered through and am patiently awaiting a sixth installment. Oh! and I’m also reading The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. I’m told it’s being turned into a movie and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about that. Not like it matters but I can still complain, right? RIGHT?! Ha! That’s what I thought.

On a side note: I get to spend Saturday night and all day Sunday with the one and only Stefani!!! I could not be more excited. We are going to see Mockingjay on Saturday, stuff our faces with Cafe Du Monde on Sunday morning and then meet her friend for lunch in the afternoon, with some NOLA exploration somewhere in between.

Okay, sorry for the ramble. I’ll have a more coherent and well put together book report once I finish The 5th Wave.

Peace out, homies!

  1. First, YAAAAY! for this weekend. I can’t wait. I’m totally going to stuff my face with beignets – never had real NOLA ones. Yummm.
    Also, I love love love the Raven Cycle books so I’m glad you are back in Henrietta. We can discuss BLLB this weekend!

    • It’s gonna be so much fun!! Bundle up. I think it’s going to be chilly. Let’s make sure we take pictures and such. Also, is there anything you want to see in particular?

      • I’ve heard the weekend is actually going to be nice. At least up here. I’ll have to check thw weather for down there. I don’t really have anything in mind except the French market. That’s a thing, right?

  2. Welcome back again! πŸ™‚

    I forget so much of what I read too, that’s why I like to read series all together. I haven’t read Raven Boys yet, but I’ve heard great things.

    I hate books with all of the teenage angst, no thanks. I haven’t read Fifth Wave yet either, because I hear not much good happens, but I want to before the movie.

    Have fun this weekend! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Molly!!! I’m so glad you forget stuff too. That makes me feel a little better. If you ever get the chance or remember to, give the Raven Cycle series a chance. Very good!

      You know, these girls were just SUCH brats. Ugh. And you heard right about the 5th wave. It’s a lot of doom and gloom. Lots of death and despair. It’s a series though, so I’m carrying the torch of Hope. It’s still a good read and the main character is a bamf.

      Thank you!! I’ll be posting all about it 😁
