I recently reviewed In The Woods (Dublin Murder Squad #1) and fell under Tana French’s spell. Her story telling is like nothing I’ve ever read. And she did it again, folks.

The Likeness kept me flying through the pages and was completely unputdownable. Unlike most series, French doesn’t continue the plot line from book to book, she plucks a character and continues with his/her story. Personally, I love this concept. It allows the story to remain new and fresh, without losing any attachment as we already know the characters. The story itself was a brilliant. I have a hard enough time putting my thoughts together to make a {not so} coherent review, so to come up with a story this amazeballs just blows my mind.

With the exception of one portion and the fact that the chapters are on the longer side, there’s nothing wrong with this book. It’s darn near perfect. You lose yourself in their world, you get wrapped up and your judgment gets warped. You hold your breath and shake your head and say, “whaaaat?” pretty often. That’s what reading this book is like, it’s a mind screw. It’s a perfect follow-up. I’ve already purchased the third and can’t wait to read it!!

I highly recommend this book as well as the first book in the series. You will not be disappointed. And if you’re disappointed, then we cannot be friends. I’m sorry. Just kidding, we can be friends but I’ll just harass you for not liking this book. Much like I harass my mom for not liking The Fault in Our Stars. I know, I know, I’m getting a DNA test. OH! Speaking of TFiOS, I’m going to see it tonight so there will be a post on it tommorrow at some point! Wish me luck!
