Hi friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. I spent the weekend holed up inside due to the yucky rain but hey! that’s the best reading weather, right? I picked up this fun looking book based solely on the cover. Something about the title {intriguing, yes?} and the art that was just so appealing… Here are my brief thoughts on what was inside:

Despite the slow start, I thought I Kill the Mockingbird was super clever! You know you’re reading a good book when the whole time you’re going, “That’s brilliant!! Why didn’t I think of that?!” I found myself laughing out loud more than I thought I would — I mostly blame Elena {our sidekick friend who was so sarcastic and witty}. But really, all of the characters brought something great to the table. I loved the family dynamic and support these kids have. I’ll tell you, I was completely surprised by this little book in the end. TWO ENTHUSIASTIC THUMBS UP!

This novel is worth a read if you’re in the mood for something quick, something funny and something that has a brilliant scheme all in the name of literature!!

  1. I saw this book floating around the web, but didn’t really know what’s about. I’m always down for sarcastic and witty characters, so it’s been added to my TBR. Also, I agree awesome cover!

    • Yay!!! It’s a short, easy read but these kids have such a fun summer and do something I wish I had thought of doing. I loved the chapter titles as well! I plan on reading Acampora’s other novel as well. I’m a fan 🙂

  2. I have the book. I’ve seen the film. Yet I still haven’t read it! I want to, but I suppose I’m intimidated by how I probably won’t understand it – what with it involving courts and the law system in those days. Eek!
